My Water fun day recount

Last week it was water fun day! That means everyone was swimming and having fun in the water.

First we went to the pools for relays. Relays is basically a race where you race across the pool. we had sit in our house colours te tonga (Green) Te raki (Blue) te whiti (yellow) te uru (Red) while we were waiting we said our house chants. Our house chant was.

Te tonga what is your profession auu auu auu,

everywhere we go people want to know,

who we are,

so we tell them,

we are te tonga,

mighty mighty tonga,

te tonga are you ready ready yes we are ready ready.

te uru is for breakfast te whiti te raki is for dinner and we munch munch munch.

After the relays we went to the slip and slide station. We laid down the slip and slide by the senior playground. It was really fun but one thing I didn’t like was that we had some little kids from room 15 with us.

After the slip and slide we had a water fight and it was heaps of  fun. We had sponges, water balloons, water guns and cups. But the water balloons ran out really fast.

Next we went to the park to play a game called drip drip drop. It’s  basically duck duck goose but you have to go around and drop some water from a sponge on people’s head. If you want to choose someone you have to drop the sponge on their head, beside us was the little kids from room 15.

I love water fun day because we get wet all day on a hot summer day. I hope we can have another water fun day again.

EG Clendon Library Recount

Do you know what Clendon library is? Probably not let me tell you.

Yesterday my class and I went down to the Clendon library to get our cards made. On our way there we saw a lot of stuff like hand sanitizer bottles, dead animals and even a dead kitten. When we got there a Librarian whose  name is Christopher gave us a tour and told us facts about libraries in Auckland.Like did you know there are 56 libraries? and you can take up to 35 items?.

Later we were given our library cards then we were told to get One book. I felt like the happiest kid on earth but because I was standing like I was in a dramatic scene saying “Finally the time has come” while walking to the comics when I came back to my senses I heard people say “ Ahhhh there anime!” and another guy was like “ OMG they have one piece!!!!!!!” Then I realised that the comics were in the anime section. I was like “Yes finally the comics”.

But then I saw that they didn’t have the x-men comic I needed which was x-men #37 but i still got a book called batman the legends of the dark knight volume #3.

On our way back we saw lots of cars with Samoan flags on them and smashed up the keyboard pieces.

When we got back we all were like what time is it ? Then our teacher Miss Lavakula replied “5 minutes before lunch play” . We were all like what because we only had like 5 minutes to wander in the library and choose a book because the tour and the facts also the walk was so long.

I love the Library it’s good to go to the library because you can learn a lot from books and to make a card it’s free for kids and they have lots of categories like Manga, Comics, Fiction, non fiction, pacific, dvd, and more I love the library can’t wait to go again.
